A Wonderful Surprise

Our good friends, Jean and Bob from D. C. have a lovely home in Grafton, Vermont, just about 15 minutes away from Camperama. They have arrived to enjoy a week of colors, and invited us for dinner tonight. Earlier, on the phone, Jean said she had brought a friend with her from D. C., and I thought, "That's nice. Jean is a friendly person - probably asked a collegue or neighbor, maybe elderly, or needing a respite from the busy city pace, to spend a few days relaxing in this beautiful area of the country."

We arrived at 6 p.m., and knocked on the screen door. Bob opened the door, and I saw the visiting friend. It was Jinny! Jinny, formerly from Houston, now from Florida, friend of ours since all our kids were toddlers! Jinny, Jean, and I, along with good buddy, Kathy, have had Vermont adventures before. Seen a lotta pretty leaves, streams, and covered bridges. Shared wine, good food  in cozy New England restaurants and at Jean's kitchen table, great conversation, and many, many laughs.

What a surprise. Jean really pulled it off. There were a lot of happy shrieks in that kitchen, I tell you. Bob and Tom were befuddled, and  retreated to the garage to cook steaks. 

A delicious dinner, and a really fun time was shared by all. Thanks Jean and Bob.
