Every year, when October arrives, I want to be in New England. And this year, we are. These are our last few days in Maine; we leave for Vermont on Sunday.
You all be searching the skies in a few days.....lots of geese heading your way. We are hearing their honk, honk, honk, honks over our campsite. And, now that it's October First, (the opening of hunting season), we are also hearing gunshots from time to time in the woods.
It is a challenge each day to decide on what to wear, and what to take “just in case.” Cool mornings, warm by noon, windy afternoons, and cold nights, not to mention possible rain, and soon……..snow. So as we leave in the jeep for a day of excursions, we dress fairly lightly, but take lightweight and heavier weight jackets, sweaters, or vests; we also need hat or headband or visor, plus cameras, binoculars, maps, water bottles, and snack food. Tomorrow, if the weather cooperates, we will take a lighthouse tour by boat. So, I’m packing an extra change of clothes as well. How was the lighthouse tour? Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. When will you be heading back? I miss you!
